Instagram Turns It Up a Notch

It’s been awhile since my last post but I got some good or bad news for you guys depending on how you feel about watching videos. On Thursday, Instagram co founder Kevin Systrom introduced a rival to Vine:Instagram Video, a new service for Instagram’s 130 million monthly active users.

I’m just speculating here but it looks like Vine may have a tough time keeping up with Instagram in the long run. However Vine has been recently taking off as more and more people became aware of its potential. But this response by Instagram may just be what takes them down. What do you guys think? Can Instagrams Video Sharing  Outshine Vines newly found Spotlight??

Knickstagram Your Playoff  Support

Instagram is making a big impact and spread its popularity among sports teams, players, brands and fans. So the Knicks has just launched an instagram specific microsite to collect fan photos from Madison Square Garden and around the world during the team’s 2013 playoff run.

This is the first of its kind and may serve as a great way to connect sports teams even more with their fans. The site is called Knickstagram.com and will aggregate and post all Instagram fan photos that include the #Knicks and #KnicksTape hashtags, which are popular among fans of the team.

This seems to be a cool innovation one I think many more sport teams should and will take advantage of in the coming months. How do you feel about it?

Instagram Proving its Dominance as a Photo Sharing App.

After being exclusive for i OS today marks 1 year since Instagram migrated over to the Android  Naturally they celebrated by announcing on their blog that within that short amount of time almost half of its users come from Android.

As of February Instagram has over 100 million active monthly users which continues to grow at a rapid pace. And the push to Android fueled that fire gaining them over 1 million users within the 1st 24 hours.

Instagram the photo sharing app came in and dominated by making mobile photos beautiful and a way to share them quickly and simple. While simplistic it played a huge role in pushing mobile technology.
